The speech that shook parliament

26 september 2022 | Thierry Baudet

Speech by Thierry Baudet, leader of Forum for Democracy, in the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament (States-General), 22 September 2022, during the series of formal speeches and debates following the King’s speech at the State opening of Parliament.

The entire cabinet walked out of the Chamber when Baudet mentioned that the Finance Minister Sigrid Kaag had studied at St Antony's College Oxford and the Speaker then intervened to prevent Mr Baudet from completing his speech. Since the FVD leader was prevented from delivering his speech, on the say-so of the Speaker who represents the party of which Minister Kaag is the leader, we are publishing the full text here.

For years, I have seen the destruction of our society and I have been fighting against it.

I fight against mass immigration, which disfigures our societies. It causes criminality, insecurity, the disruption of our social system and a terrible housing crisis.

I fight against the EU’s attack on our national democracies, that awful EU which siphons power from the public sphere into an insular world of unelected bureaucrats.

Against the climate hysteria and its catastrophic results, such as the worsening energy crisis.

Against the euro, which is destroying our savings and economy.

Against the insane COVID policies, which have undermined our freedom and health.

Against wokeism’s totalitarian attack on freedom of speech and natural human relationships.

Against the ugliness, indeed the criminality, of modern architecture, which is harmful and alienating.

Against the proxy war of the US and NATO versus Russia, first provoked by NATO and now fought on Ukrainian land. A pointless and unwinnable war plunging our continent into chaos and poverty.

For a long time, I thought these phenomena were unrelated. I could not understand why new fronts kept being opened in the war against people trying to live their daily lives. I failed to understand why we constantly screwed up.

I could not find the connection between these apparently unconnected issues.

Then I realized that these various insanities are part of one plan. However irrational and counterproductive, like the exacerbative COVID policies, they are part of one big project.

They are all symptoms of the same spiritual confusion.

It is not a secret conspiracy which I have discovered.  It is instead an openly announced plan, or a series of plans, with all have one and the same underlying ideology.

Whether we call it the Great Reset, Build Back Better, the Green Deal or Euro-Atlantic Integration, the plan remains the same and stems from one mindset, the same way of thinking.

The elite ruling class is strongly convinced that human freedom is dangerous. Human nature is dangerous. Human nature should be changed – humanity remade.

That is why they push transhumanism. They find human nature unsatisfactory, and believe human intellect and planners like them can improve it.

They think they will be able to live for 150 years, or even forever. World Economic Forum guru Yuval Harari believes humans are hackable and programmable.

They believe in humanity 2.0.

Their hatred for individual freedom is inextricably linked to it. They hate humanity 1.0 – real people.

That explains their population reduction agenda: their desire to control us with social credit, QR codes and algorithms, to monitor and manipulate our feelings and desires.

They believe too many people travel, so we need a personal emissions budget to track our movements.

They believe freedom of speech must be curtailed, because people might say things they disagree with.

All politics has essentially degenerated into a war against traditional European life; against free people; against differing opinions they call disinformation; against Russia, of course; even against seasonal flu, which they use as an excuse to inject people with poison; against national identities and yes, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and so on.

The model for government is now war. Because war means leaders can order people around. That is the elite’s deepest desire.

They think the world would be more rational, better, more efficient if we would just hand the reins to them.

So the language and ideology of top-down management and control dominates politics. It is frighteningly similar to the language and ideology of Soviet Russia. It used to be the planned economy, now it is the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Davos ideology is deeply linked to communism. Their differences are overshadowed by their similarity of convictions. Moreover, China shows that communism is completely compatible with economic productivity and globalism.

Thus, the political spectrum does not range from proponents of ‘state interference’ on the one hand, to proponents of ‘corporations and companies’ on the other. Both groups, which on the surface could be called ‘left’ or ‘right’, are both global elite groups: both believe that when people are free, they make the wrong choices. They believe that when countries are free, they start wars. And so, that they themselves, these global elites, have to rule.

That is why our elites - from both the 'right' and the 'left' (an insignificant, cosmetic distinction) - want to create top-down structures like that of the EU to make it impossible for states and people to act individually and of their own free will.

Because of that ideology, they consider it ‘essential’ to regulate human economic activity down to the smallest detail and dream of total control over ‘climate’ and ‘planet’.

It also appears vital to them to pass euthanasia laws, such as those existing in the Netherlands, Belgium and soon France, because they no longer want to accept that there is a part of life that is uncontrollable.

Likewise, that ideology propagates the LGBTQI madness, and encourages children - young children! - to experiment with deviant sexualities. Nature must be made adaptable. To them, the body is only an instrument to bring to heel, and the heterosexual family as a natural, even biological basis of society is a thorn in their eyes.

Through this ideology, our hopeless elites attempt to construct a new post-historic, post-national homo europaeus, severed from its homeland and history, drenched in a rootless cosmopolitan ideology.

But that explains why our elites find it essential to destroy Russia, and the obsession with NATO’s proxy war against Russia in Ukraine. After all, Putin's Russia embodies the opposite of all these things.

It is a country with a strong sense of national identity, a realistic approach to foreign policy, and a virile male leader contrasting with the effeminate, often sexually deviant politicians of the West.

In ancient times, gnostics believed that knowledge was the key to eternal life. That the world, nature, could be shaped to their will. It is the old error of the Tower of Babel; human arrogance. This is now embodied by contemporary gnostics like Yuval Harari, the guru of Davos. Close behind are the global elite, whose subordinates are members of our government.

This error has indeed existed for a long time. It is the age-old struggle between the salt of the earth, those who accept the limits that nature, biology, and God place on life; and the gnostics, the proud, the alchemists, who want to become God, and who in their overestimation and megalomania cause immeasurable damage - again and again - to life.

Consider, for example, the French Revolution, based on the megalomaniac delusion that society must be destroyed to be recreated – it led to the first organised genocide in modern history.

Or look at its continuation with the positivists of the early 1800s, who wanted a world ruled by industrialists – just as the World Economic Forum advocates today.

Then it developed into utopian socialism, with figures like Robert Owen and Louis Blanc building model societies – which failed, because you cannot hew anything straight out of the crooked timber of humanity.

Still it persevered, because subsequently came all the revolutionary socialism of Marx, Engels and finally the murderous rule of Lenin.

And then? Despite the artificial and superficial 'contradiction' between capitalism and communism, Marxism was very much alive in the West during the Cold War – namely, in the form of cultural Marxism, which was rampant in universities, trade unions, the media, and the secret services.

Whole generations of Europeans were thus taught by Marxists, whether pro-Soviet or pro-Mao. A good example is St Antony's College, in Oxford, where Sigrid Kaag got her MPhil degree. It is little more than a training institute for Western secret services – that is, for precisely the globalist elites who want to plan and control our lives behind the scenes.

Those people, the heirs of this criminal ideology that caused the French and Russian revolutions, an ideology that transformed into cultural Marxism in the second half of the twentieth century – they set the agenda of modern globalism.

Marx and Engels said, "The worker has no country." That was their ideal. Marx and Engels saw socialism as a weapon, in fact a means, to destroy the nation and the family. But essentially Marx and Engels were internationalists.

Believers in malleability.

They hated the nation and the family because they are natural structures, arising from the essence of human nature, and thus cannot be the product of planning.

So when the Cold War ended, this ideology did not disappear. On the contrary, the ideology of global markets has merged with the ideology of the regulated welfare state.

The result was globalism: the diabolical form of government merging Big Business and Big Government.

Globalism, the dual heir of capitalism and communism.

Engels wrote: " ‘The disintegration of mankind into a mass of isolated, mutually repelling atoms in itself means the destruction of all corporate, national and indeed of any particular interests and is the last necessary step towards the free and spontaneous association of men.’

The old alchemists’ dream. Dissolve and let it solidify. Solve et coagula. Destroy to rebuild.

Covid was therefore perceived as an opportunity – The Great Reset. Build Back Better. Every word out of Klaus Schwab's mouth is based on the assumption that human society is dangerously anarchic and requires central management, direction, and control, by a few major global players.

Globalists’ hostility to national sovereignty is not because they are for individual freedom and against supposed national authoritarianism. It is because to them sovereignty embodies the very freedom, and thus the unpredictability that they cannot bear – because it gets in the way of their supposedly rational plans.

Indeed, those plans have been eagerly pursued since the end of World War II.

For instance, national coal and steel industries were dismantled and placed under central bureaucratic control.

European national currencies were destroyed and placed under central bureaucratic control.

Covid was the ultimate (and perhaps planned) opportunity for the globalists to push this control further.

The British scientist Professor Neil Ferguson has even openly admitted that he took inspiration from China, the world's largest and most terrifying totalitarian state, to introduce lockdowns in Europe.

The globalists love China because it embodies exactly that combination that they dream of: capitalism on the one hand and totalitarian control on the other. The unfree top-down state of China does not frighten the globalists, it fascinates them and they want to imitate it.

They love China as much as they hate Russia. Russia, which not only openly and blatantly disobeys them, but which itself represents an alternative model that they are therefore trying to destroy before people can come to admire it.

That is why one of the first sanctions the EU imposed was on Russian media – imagine Europeans hearing the Russian side of the story!

Yes, mastering the narrative is essential to continue to represent and propagate the virtual reality the globalists want us to believe in. So they do not just want to control people's energy consumption, know and record their social interaction and thoughts, they do not just want the planned economy: they want the planned society – planned humanity.

And what exactly is wrong with all this? Why not try to control the world? Why are the globalists wrong? Why is the Great Reset the greatest existential threat to human freedom and European civilization we have ever faced?

You will know them by their fruits.

Our countries are drowning in debt.

Inflation is destroying our savings at the rate of 10% per year. For years, economic growth has barely exceeded 1%, if at all. That means that people lose between 9 and 10% of their income per year.

The euro has fallen below 1 dollar after Mario Draghi said he would save it at any cost.

Our debt burden is now so great that it can never be repaid.

We built up trillions in debt for our children to pay off, and retirees’ savings are vanishing before their very eyes due to inflation.

This inflation is theft – theft of our assets, by the governments and banks that control the money presses.

That makes this a spiritual battle – a battle to save the human mind from the ravages of its potential engineers.

A battle in which human nature is at stake.

In which humanity is at stake.

We must stop the mass immigration and stop the war against native Dutch and European peoples.

We must dismantle supranational organizations and return to free cooperation between sovereign nation states.

We must free ourselves from Big Pharma, Big Capital and Big Tech.

For the safety of current and future generations, we need sound money, not the EU's politicized Weimar currency.

We need policies that favour families, as in Hungary and Russia.

We must make peace with Russia, stop with the insane climate mysticism, the LGBT alchemy and the modern anti-aesthetics.

We must save European civilization.

And this is precisely Forum for Democracy party manifesto.
